Was fiddling with illustrator and I came up with this!
It looks much more defined on illustrator.
My first digital illustration.

Guess that proves the point that you never know what you can do until you've tried it. :)

(P.S.Please don't just copy and paste this image for your own personal use. Thanks! Anyway, the facial features are pretty much a blur patch here. Wonder if that's because I exported the image. I really want to know how to do shadowing. )

Celine Cousteau on US VOGUE and URBAN

I was reading US VOGUE and I saw this.

(Image courtesy of US VOGUE June issue)

Celine Cousteau, granddaughter of sea adventurer Jacques Cousteau, now face and voice of La Praire for their marine biology cream.

An adventurous lady paired with La Praire. Where have I read that before?
Thursday's Urban. Same name, same product, this time on THEBAGPAGE.

Quite impressed that Urban got the same scoop as US VOGUE. The photo shoot by Paul Jasmin is absolutely gorgeously done. She looked younger in outdoor shoot. So young, so energetic, so vibrant- she just looked like she's ready to jump in the ocean anytime. Bring it on.

The studio shoot by URBAN looked so dull in comparison. I feel like it didn't capture her spirit of life, the juicy highlight of her family heritage.

Here's something else that caught my eye!
A mention of Singapore in US VOGUE!
(right column, second and third paragraphs-Image courtesy of US VOGUE June issue)
Although not fashion related, I'm still proud Singapore got a mention!
K.F. Seetoh and Makansutra ("The eating bible")
Apparently, a Makansutra Beijing is in the making and the author of the article Jeffrey Steingarten and K.F. Seetoh are friends.
Makansutra got a mention as 'the most original restaurant guide of a lifetime'.
K.F. Seetoh might just blush with pride!

P.s. Go grab an issue of US VOGUE June issue to check it out! All the articles make a great read when you're travelling.;)

Interesting tidbit.

Something I found really really amazing.

Many thanks to Sherly Rabbani and Josephine Solimene!)

One day, you dress up to your nines and attend say, Marc Jacobs fashion show, rubbing shoulders with all the A-list celebrities. And you look across the fashion runway to see this queer couple, an orange tabby cat in their arms. You think to yourself 'probably some socialite'. Who are they.

Answer: Hired actors who performed a week long fashion show at the fashion shows. What an idea. I think it's really refreshing. and to make sure everyone notices them with that eye-catching tabby. Totally fun! What a way to market your designs!

Kudos to Trovata's John Whitledge! and of course, the two actors who managed to pull it off!
